Should you be doing more?

I was just flipping through some old journal entries from when I first went full time with my coaching and there was a common theme: each day, I never felt like I was doing enough.

I was constantly beating myself up for not doing more.

On pages that only I would ever see, I was tearing myself apart.

I wasn’t focused enough.

I wasn’t getting enough done.

My vision wasn’t clear enough.

My website wasn’t pretty enough.

My business wasn’t successful enough.

And, on top of all that, I wasn’t enjoying self-employment enough (anyone else notice the absurdity right there?)

Not only did I expect myself to have an uber successful and polished business right out of the gate, I also expected I’d know exactly how to enjoy myself while doing it.

They say hindsight is 20/20 and this is no exception.  At the time, I felt like I should have been doing more of everything.  But what I really should have been focusing on is doing better.

MORE vs. BETTER

What if you were:

Really present instead of just “there”.

Focused instead of scattered and distracted.

Passionate instead of just “going through the motions”.

Energized instead of exhausted and overloaded.

For me, once I made the switch from more to BETTER, there was an instant shift: I felt like a weight had been lifted.  From there, things only got better (see what I did there?).

When I stopped beating myself up, I started to really connect with women (like you) who I can serve.  I started to feel more productive, even if my to-do list wasn’t shrinking.  I smiled and laughed and was grateful more, and stressed less, even under the same circumstances.

If you switched from more to BETTER, what would be different for you?

What would your days look like?

What would your relationships look like?

What would your life look like?
